About Kevin Petersen

Small business owner, husband, father, and United States Navy veteran, Kevin Petersen is committed to strengthening our communities, state, and country.

With the exception of time served in the United States Navy, Kevin is a lifelong resident of the Waupaca area. He was born at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, graduated from Waupaca High School in 1983, and currently resides there with his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters, Nicole (age 13) and Kaylee (age 10).

After obtaining a B.S. (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the University of New Mexico (1989), Kevin then made a 23-year commitment to the safety and security of America by serving in the military. A commissioned officer who rose to the rank of Commander, Kevin was on the frontline of our nation’s security forces by serving aboard the USS Key West (SSN 722) – a fast attack nuclear submarine.

After fulfilling his commitment to defend our freedoms, Kevin returned home to join in the family business. He is now co-owner of his parent’s business - Dave’s Electronic Repair, Inc., a family run electronics business since 1976. As an active member of the Waupaca, New London, and Clintonville Chambers of Commerce, Kevin knows first-hand the importance of creating family-supporting jobs in our area and how a strong economy can make our communities more vibrant and prosperous.

An advocate of local control and smaller government, Kevin was elected to the Dayton Town Board (2001-2007) and was elected to represent the people of the 40th Assembly District in 2006.
